Blake House Publishing, LLC

Blake House Publishing, LLC, was founded in early 2017 by Amy Barnes as the parent company for “Joy of Medina County Magazine” and other future publications.

The name of the company is derived from the Col. H.G. Blake House, a home that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is located in Medina County and owned by Barnes.

Once an Underground Railroad Station operated by Blake, the house has a long history of being home to those who dare go against the dictates of society, who guard freedom and democracy, who have a fierce spirit of independence, and who wholeheartedly give back to the community.

The house seemed the perfect namesake for the parent company of a family of publications that will become known for standing apart from the crowd, for a dedication to truth and journalism, and for always championing those who need a voice.
